Golf Club Re-gripping

Moore Golf offers a range of quality grips that can be fitted in store while you wait.  Ozone, heat, dirt, and oils from your hands all age your grips and cause natural degradation. Grips that are the wrong size, worn out or that aren’t suited for weather conditions can all negatively impact your game. We recommend having your clubs re-gripped once a year or every 30 – 40 rounds depending on how much time you spend on the practice range.

 

A good grip can improve comfort, consistency and shot distance. You can personalise your grip type, size, colour and material to get one that best suits your hands.

 

A grip should always be replaced if you notice any of the following signs;

 

smooth hard surfaces, cracks, shiny patches, worn spots and loss of tack

Club Length, Lie Angle & Loft Adjustments

 

Length

Playing golf is challenging enough without having to use clubs that don’t fit you. Golfers come in all shapes and sizes and everyone has different swing characteristics. For woods, the shaft length is a trade-off between power and control so you should you what produces the best results. Putter length is a matter of personal preference, so choose one that feels most comfortable. The length of irons is the most important for accuracy and solid contact, your height and arm length dictate the accurate length.

 

Lie Angle

The lie angle of any golf club is the angle formed between the centre of the shaft and the sole, or ground line, of the club when the club is soled in its proper playing position

 

Lie angle is a factor that affects the accuracy of golf shots. Golfers who use clubs whose lie angles don’t fit their body types and/or golf swings are costing themselves strokes.

 

Loft

Every golf club has loft which is the angle of the club face that controls trajectory and affects distance. Players carry around 14 clubs in their bag that range from the low-lofted driver to the high-lofted wedges. The more loft a club has, the higher the trajectory of the ball and the higher the number assigned to the club. It is recommended to have the loft of your clubs checked once a year. As clubs are made of metal hitting with them regularly with inevitable bend them out of shape to some extent.
